All golfers want to know HOW to lower their handicaps, but no one stops to think about WHY? I don't think it's as important.
You tell me what you think.
On the journey to improving at golf, I've seen numerous golfers become handicap paralyzed. They don't want to play in bad conditions for fear of raising their handicap.
They freak out whenever they don't play exactly to their handicap or lower.
I understand that it's a general metric that can help you better understand how good your game is relative to a scratch golfer, but I don't think it should be held as important as some people deem it to be.
You are not your handicap. It's just a number... really.
